Our Vision & Mission
A roadmap for resilient landscapes and thriving communities.
The Vision
We envision a Zimbabwe where rural communities are the primary stewards of thriving landscapes—where indigenous forests are restored, water sources are protected, and families enjoy food security and economic resilience through living in harmony with nature.
The Mission
To bridge the gap between traditional wisdom and modern conservation science. We empower communities to restore their environment through education, sustainable agriculture, and community-led land management systems that ensure long-term livelihoods.
How We Create Change
We are a program-oriented organization. Our work is defined not by how much funding we raise, but by the depth of the systems we build with our partners.
Community Ownership
Conservation fails when it is imposed from the outside. Our programs are designed to be owned, managed, and sustained by local leadership committees (Vidcos/Wadcos), ensuring that decisions respect local governance and culture.
Holistic Restoration
We don't just plant trees; we heal ecosystems. Our approach integrates soil regeneration, water harvesting, and biodiversity protection to create landscapes that can withstand climate shocks.
Sustainable Livelihoods
Ecological health and economic health are inseparable. We develop value chains—such as beekeeping, organic horticulture, and non-timber forest products—that make conservation profitable for families.
Knowledge Sharing
Education is our most durable export. By training local 'Community Guardians' and partnering with schools, we ensure that the skills to protect the land are passed down to the next generation.
